Health Benifits of Garlic 


It is famously said 

" AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY , BUT A GARLIC INSTEAD AND THE DOCTOR WILL BEG FOR HIS BREAD " 


Garlic is a pungent bulb closely related to the lily family. known for its sharp taste it is famous all over the world. 

It is highy regarded as a potent medicine in aayurveda although it is not percieved as a food as it increases rajasic qualities like ego anger and pride . Hence aayurveda recommends a no garlic diet along with onions. 

But it can be safely consumed in limited quantities as it offers tremendous health benifits.

Garlic is best eaten raw in minimum quantitiy . Remember raw garlic is very strong so eat no more than 1 or 2 cloves raw . Best to consume it with half a spoon of coconut or olive oil or ghee ( clarified butter)

Garlic has a remarkable nutrition profile  

no cholestrol , Decent amount of vitamin C and B6 , Minerals such as 
manganese , selenium , zinc , fiber 

But its major health benifits come from sulphur compounds such as allicin , disulphides and trisulphides which gives garlic its antibacterial and antioxidant properties

Raw Garlic has been known to lower BP , cholestrol , and has cancer fighting properties therby reducing risk of cancer especially in the stomach and colon.

It is also known to increase athletic performance and cure steritlity

It also known to reduce infections in the chest area and very benificial in disesases such as asthama and tubercolosis

Garlic uses in treatment of common diseases

Cold and cough : 

crush 2 to 3 cloves of garlic along with black peppers and boil in 2 cups 
of water . drink it warm 2 to 3 times a day  . continue it for 3 days
have a spoon of treacle (Gur) with a cup of warm water before sleeping 
in the night. Cold will be cured in 3 -4 days. 



High Blood pressure 

Raw garlic on empty stomach in morning and evening and having buttermilk with asefotida after meals will do the trick 



Dandruff and hairfall

Crush 2 -3 cloves of garlic in 1/4 cup of coconut oil and add lemon juice 
heat the oil slightly on medium flame and allow it to cool down 

massage this mixture well into your head and keep it for 15 - 20 minutes

wash your hair with a good shampoo afterwards 

do this once a week . you can see the effects in first wash itself



High Cholesterol ( Heart problems ) 

Garlic on empty stomach 2 times a day along with cinnamon . 
Have a glass of fresh pomogrente juice everyday for 30 days 
check your cholesterol after 30 days . see the magic 



Baldness / Hair  Loss 

mix a spoon garlic juice and neem leaf juice with Surma ( kohl ) or Kajal ( an eye cosmetic like mascara) 
massage well on the bald places in your head 
leave it for 30 minutes then rinse well
do it once a week you will see results within a month 


Stamina & Strength 


have 2 garlic cloves 
mix 1 spoon of ashwaganda ( ginseng powder) in hot milk and drink it.
have a 1 dry date and 1 dry fig (anjeer )  after that 
have it once a day for 30 days . See the difference
